About This Build

Josh and Nathalie came to us with this difficult site which was part of the rear garden of a property they bought on the outskirts of Exeter. The site was challenging for various reasons including: tree preservation orders, adjacent listed building and archaeology to name but a few.

The clients wanted to construct a barn-styled dwelling to blend with the sylvan feel of the site yet wanted a contemporary style at the same time.

The end result has become a firm favourite with the design winning the ‘Best Potton Home’ of 2018.

A Few Words From The Clients

“Sean has always been such an asset and a wealth of information and advice both in the planning area and design. When we embarked on our first build project, we were really grateful that Sean could hold us with planning and deal with any other queries/issues. We are now on our third and he has helped us design some stunning properties as well as pointing out loop holes and suggested alterations to the design which could save us time and money.

Sean was very patient with us as we had to deal with a very tricky hill site. Nothing was too much of a problem for Sean, even when we had to go back to the drawing board! I’m not sure what version we ended up at but the end result was stunning!

Sean is so helpful, personable as well as extremely professional. He really understands his field and will save anyone such a lot of
stress, time and money with his knowledge and his support.

He shielded us from a lot of the stress that usually comes from planning. He can’t make Planning departments stick to their suggested timescales, but he does help advise and support you if you have issues.”
